The SA Teen Entrepreneur Foundation (Trust) was formed primarily to instil a culture of entrepreneurship in our South African youth. The Trust's entrepreneurship messaging is largely targeted at high school learners across the country, with the long-term objective of establishing at least one Entrepreneur Society in each of the country's 25,000 high schools, and eventually growing our footprint into the rest of Africa.
Essentially the 15-week programme challenges young learners to identify 'problem areas' in their immediate surrounds, and then assists them with turning these into viable business opportunities.
Currently, much of our activity is concentrated in the Western Cape Province, but there is much interest in starting Entrepreneur Societies from particularly Gauteng, KZN, and the Eastern Cape.
Your support and kind contribution will do much to help us expand into other provinces in South Africa.
Essentially, the following elements are critical to the setting up and running of an Entrepreneur Society for a period of one year (50 learners in a society): Training of teacher champions and interns to run the programme at schools (R1,500), Infrastructure, equipment, workbooks, office costs, and connectivity (R10,000), Branding and marketing (R5,000), Idea Generation Workshops (R5,000), Initial capital outlay (R5,000), Ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and intern hard costs (R12,000), and Hard costs such as refreshments for learner meetings, prizes for year-end event, costs related to pitch events, and the like (R6,500).
So come on! Pay it forward, and support us on this entrepreneurship revolution across the nation and beyond! Its the only way to get us 1 000 000 entrepreneurs by the 2030!
